In July, I filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) seeking information about being blocked by the CDC on @X. In my request, I asked for any and all relevant policies and communications related to social media censorship. The request has been forwarded to several other key agencies within HHS, including the Office of the Secretary.
As part of my request, I included a fee waiver application, citing my status as a member of the press. However, the CDC denied this fee waiver. In response, I have filed an appeal to contest the fee waiver denial, arguing that the waiver is justified given my press credentials and the public interest in the requested information.
